About the position

As a semi-senior backend developer, you will play a central role in the development of Webmanuals' core product. You will work on designing, implementing, and optimizing our backend systems, contributing to new features and ensuring high quality. The role involves close collaboration with the frontend team in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

The role involves being responsible for the development and maintenance of Webmanuals' backend systems, ensuring system performance and scalability, as well as driving innovation within our product.

  • Develop and maintain backend systems using Java.
  • Design and implement REST APIs.
  • Work with SQL databases, specifically MySQL.
  • Contribute to new product features and improve the existing codebase.
  • Ensure high quality and performance in the systems.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers.
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve search functionality.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has at least 4 years of experience in Java development.
  • Has a good understanding of REST API design and implementation.
  • Has experience with SQL databases, e.g., MySQL.
  • Has experience in web development.

It is a plus if you have

  • The ability to quickly understand complex codebases.
  • Relevant academic education in IT/system development.
  • Experience with modern tech stacks such as Spring Boot or AWS.
